The laboratory aims to provide students with essential notions about contemporary Chinese history. With a solid grasp of China's recent foreign relations history students can develop a more nuanced understanding of the global role that China is currently playing.

By the end of the laboratory students will be able to discuss the most important topics related to the history of the People's Republic of China's foreign relations and provide a critical analysis of them. Students will be able to further deepen their knowledge through the bibliography recommended during the course.

Presentations, introductive lectures and guided discussions.

In order to obtain the relevant 3CFU, students will be required to produce an essay on a topic defined in class, and obtain a "Pass" grade.

"American policy toward the Taiwan straits in the 1960s"

20/10/2017, from 9 am to 12 am, room C1:
"Missed opportunities of US-China engagement during Cold War: a soft-power analysis"

 A relevant bibliography will be recommended during the course.
