Obiettivi formativi
Il laboratorio si propone, attraverso un approccio multidisciplinare e una didattica interattiva, di affrontare alcuni dei nodi chiave utili per comprendere le attuali trasformazioni in corso nella regione mediterranea focalizzandosi specialmente sulla sponda sud. Il laboratorio prevede una serie di incontri tematici e/o metodologici su questioni cruciali per interpretare tali trasformazioni come, ad, esempio, l'Islam politico e la sua rappresentazione, i flussi migratori, le trasformazioni del tessuto socio-economico e del mercato del lavoro, ecc.
The workshop aims, through a multidisciplinary approach and an interactive teaching, to address some of the key issues useful for understanding the current changes taking place in the Mediterranean region. The seminar activities include a series of thematic and/or methodological meetings crucial to interpret these changes as, for, example, political Islam and its representation, migration, socio-economic transformations, etc.

Acquisire strumenti teorici per meglio comprendere le trasformazioni nell'area mediterranea attraverso una migliore conoscenza delle sue rappresentazioni e dei fenomeni socio-economici che in essa si sviluppano (conoscenza e capacità di comprensione).
Inoltre, grazie alle diverse tecniche di insegnamento proposte (lezioni frontali, relazioni di gruppo, dibattito, ecc.), lo studente avrà anche acquisito alcune competenze trasversali (capacità di lavorare in gruppi-anche multiculturali, capacità di analisi e sintesi, capacità di leadership, proattività e innovazione, capacità relazionali) fondamentali per un inserimento attivo nel mondo del lavoro (autonomia di giudizio, abilità comunicative e di diversa natura).
Develop the theoretical tools for a better understanding of the transformations of the Mediterranean region through the study of its representation and of the micro processes in which this region is involved.
Moreover, giving the many teaching techniques used students will also acquire some transversal competences useful for a successful inclusion in the job market.

Modalità di insegnamento
Ad alcune lezioni frontali seguiranno attività seminariali. Se le condizioni lo consentiranno, il laboratorio si svolgerà in presenza. In ogni caso sarà garatita la partecipazione al laboratorio anche agli studenti che non potranno fruirne in presenza attraverso la piattaforma Webex.
After some frontal lessons seminar activities will be proposed. If the pandemic will evolve positively, the laboratory will take place in presence. In any case, participation will also be guaranteed to students who will not be able to be in class through the Webex platform.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Gli studenti e studentesse dovranno redigere una tesina scritta (max. 3.000 parole) su uno degli argomenti affrontati durante il laboratorio. Gli elaborati saranno valutati sulla base della capacità dello studente/essa di argomentare in maniera critica il tema prescelto. Gli studenti/esse Erasmus o di Corsi binazionali internazionali potranno sostenere la prova finale (elaborato scritto) in inglese o in francese.
Students must prepare a written essay (maximum 3,000 words) on one of the topics addressed during the workshop. The essay will be evaluated on the student's ability to critically reason on the chosen topic. International and Erasmus students may prepare the essay in English and/or French.

Gli studentie studentesse potranno partecipare ad alcune attività seminariali congiunte previste per altri laboratori del corso di laurea triennale volti all'apprendimento delle modalità per la stesura di un proposal di ricerca o di una tesi di laurea.
Students are encouraged to participate to some other activities and seminar planned in the frame of the degree course aimed at learning how to draft a research proposal or a degree thesis.

The workshop is held in the second semester on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (10.00-12.00). The start dates of the workshop will be communicated by e-mail to the participants after their selection. The lecturer will select the participants on the basis of their motivation and cv. They are asked to send their cv and motivation letter from the first of December 2020 to this email address rosita.diperi@unito.it. The lecturer will select participants during the month of January 2021.
The workshop is intended for a maximum of 30 students and the attendance is mandatory. Participant will be asked to register on moodle platform where the instructor will upload all the useful documents.
