Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento, quale disciplina specialistica dell'area sociologica che si colloca nel 1° anno,
coerentemente con gli obiettivi formativi specifici del corso di studi in Politiche e Servizi Sociali, intende mettere le studentesse/gli studenti in grado di acquisire gli strumenti concettuali, teorici e metodologici di base per comprendere e analizzare, secondo una prospettiva sociologica, il rapporto tra culture, servizi, utenti ed esperti/professionisti, i suoi mutamenti nel tempo, le conseguenze sociali delle modalità di strutturazione di tale rapporto. Esso si propone altresì di migliorare le competenze transculturali dei professionisti che lavoreranno nei servizi.The teaching course, as a specialized discipline in the sociological area which is located in the 1st year, in line with the specific training objectives of the course of study in Social policies and services, aims to enable students to acquire the basic conceptual, theoretical and methodological tools to understand and analyze, according to a sociological perspective, the relationship between cultures, services, users and experts / professionals, its changes over time, the social consequences of the ways of structuring this relationship. The course also aims to improve the cross-cultural skills of professionals who will work in services.

Lo studente/la studentessa dovrà possedere una conoscenza puntuale degli argomenti trattati durante il corso ed essere in grado di utilizzare gli strumenti concettuali, teorici e metodologici acquisiti, mostrando capacità di analizzare, interpretare e comprendere dati, fenomeni, processi relativi al rapporto tra culture, servizi, utenti ed esperti/professionisti, i mutamenti nel tempo di tale rapporto e i suoi risvolti sociali.
The student must have a precise knowledge of the topics covered during the course and be able to use the acquired conceptual, theoretical and methodological tools, showing ability to analyze, interpret and understand data, phenomena, processes related to the relationship between cultures, services, users and experts / professionals, the changes over time of this relationship and its social implications.

Modalità di insegnamento
27 incontri. Una parte delle lezioni e attività in modalità remota sincrona (con registrazione) via Webex o asincrona (sotto forma di audioslides/video registrazioni rese disponibili nella piattaforma Moodle) e una parte - orientativamente le ultime due settimane di corso (in attesa di conferma per verifica disponibilità aula) - in presenza. Alle lezioni in streaming o audio/video registrate si potranno affiancare materiali didattici anche multimediali come film, video e documentari che saranno oggetto di discussione in aula virtuale.
La prima lezione si svolgerà in modalità remota sincrona lunedì 22 febbraio 2021 dalle ore 12:00 alle ore 14:00 tramite Webex (l'URL della stanza Webex della docente verrà comunicato tramite avviso sulla piattaforma Moodle dell'insegnamento). Nel corso della prima lezione la docente fornirà maggiori dettagli sulle modalità di erogazione delle successive lezioni.

27 meetings. A part of the lessons and activities in remote synchronous mode (with recording) via Webex or asynchronous (in the form of audioslides / video recordings made available on the Moodle platform) and a part - the last two weeks of the course - in presence. The lessons in streaming or recorded audio / video can be accompanied by multimedia materials such as films, videos and documentaries which will be discussed in the virtual classroom.
The first lesson will take place remotely synchronously on Monday 22 February 2021 from 12:00 to 14:00 via Webex (the URL of the teacher's Webex room will be communicated via a notice on the teaching Moodle platform). During the first lesson, the teacher will give further details about the methods of delivery the subsequent lessons.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Per studentesse/studenti frequentanti:
Per le studentesse e gli studenti frequentanti sono previste due attività laboratoriali consistenti:
1) La prima, nella presentazione orale e discussione critica in piccoli gruppi di 2-3 persone circa, a metà corso circa, di un capitolo di libro o un articolo tra quelli elencati alla voce “Testi consigliati e bibliografia” (tranne i lavori di Musumeci R. che saranno illustrati dalla docente). L’articolo/capitolo presentato non sarà oggetto dell’esame finale (in caso di valutazione positiva da parte della docente della discussione).
2) La seconda, nella stesura di una relazione su un capitolo, articolo, report, statistiche o altra pubblicazione, (anche non in programma), e relativi all’impatto dell’epidemia di Covid19 e delle misure volte al suo contenimento su: servizi pubblici, la loro (ri)organizzazione e/o ristrutturazione, le istanze culturali e valoriali sottostanti, ruolo e visione degli esperti in tali processi, vissuti soggettivi (sia dal lato utenti dei servizi sia dal lato esperti operanti in essi) dei processi e mutamenti in atto. La relazione scritta dovrà essere inviata alla docente e presentata e discussa oralmente a fine corso all’incirca. Anche in questo caso l'articolo oggetto della relazione non sarà oggetto d'esame finale; nel caso il capitolo/articolo/report non fosse tra quelli in programma, lo studente/studentessa sarà comunque esonerato dal portare all'esame finale una delle due pubblicazioni in programma, focalizzate sul Covid, a sua scelta.
Per entrambe le presentazioni orali è richiesto di preparare e avvalersi di PowerPoint. Ad entrambe verrà assegnato un voto in 30esimi che (solo se sarà uguale o superiore a 18/30) farà media con il voto dell’esame orale finale. Ai fini della media finale, il voto di ciascuna presentazione peserà 1/3.
L'esame finale consisterà in un colloquio orale che verterà sul resto del programma; anche questo peserà 1/3 ai fini della media (solo se sarà uguale o superiore a 18/30).
La docente fornirà maggiori dettagli e informazioni su questi aspetti, sui tempi e le modalità di consegna delle relazioni e di esposizione delle presentazioni durante le prime lezioni.
Per studentesse/studenti non frequentanti:
La modalità di verifica per gli studenti non frequentanti è orale. Nella valutazione della prova orale la docente terrà conto dell'appropriatezza della preparazione rispetto ai contenuti del programma, oltre che della chiarezza e coerenza espositiva.
La frequenza al corso non è obbligatoria ma consigliata.
Si raccomanda alle iscritte/agli iscritti all’esame che non intendono o non possono presentarsi il giorno dell’appello di cancellarsi attraverso il sistema ESSE3 o di avvisare la docente per e-mail.

For attending students:
For the students and attending students there are two consistent laboratory activities:
1) The first, in the presentation and critical discussion in small groups of 2-3 people approximately, about halfway through the course, of a book chapter or article among those listed under the heading "Recommended texts and bibliography". The article / chapter presented will not be the subject of the final examination (in the event of a positive evaluation by the teacher of the discussion).
2) The second, in drafting a report on a chapter, article, report, statistics or other publication, (also not in program), and relating to the impact of the Covid19 epidemic and of the measures aimed at its containment on: public services, the their (re) organization and / or restructuring, the underlying cultural and value issues, role and vision of the experts in these processes, subjective experiences (both from the users side of the services and from the experts side operating in them) of the processes and changes taking place. The written report must be sent to the teacher and presented and discussed orally at the end of the course.
For both oral presentations is required to prepare and use PowerPoint. Both will be given a grade out of 30 out of 30 which (only if it is equal to or greater than 18/30) will average with the grade of the final oral exam. For the average, the vote of each presentation will weigh 1/3.
The final exam will consist of an oral interview that will focus on the rest of the program; this too will weigh 1/3 for the average mark (only if it is equal to or greater than 18/30).
The teacher will provide more details and information on these aspects, on the times and methods of delivery of the reports and presentation of the presentations during the first lessons.
For non-attending students:
The exam for non-attending students is oral. The teacher will take into account the appropriateness of the preparation with respect to the contents of the program, as well as the clarity and consistency of the presentation.
Attendance to the course is not mandatory but recommended.
Examiners who do not intend or cannot appear on the day of the appeal are recommended to unsubscribe through the ESSE3 system or to notify the teacher by e-mail.
* The modalities of the examinations may vary according to the limitations imposed by the current pandemic. In any case, remote mode is ensured.

Programma
Il corso di insegnamento tratterà, da una prospettiva sociologica, il tema della relazione tra culture, servizi, utenti ed esperti/professionisti nelle società contemporanee, i mutamenti nel tempo e i risvolti sociali di tale rapporto, adottando la lente del corso di vita (pertanto guardando a servizi destinati a categorie sociali diverse, specialmente giovani-adulte famiglie con figli piccoli e anziani) e una prospettiva sia di genere che inter/transculturale.
Una parte introduttiva sarà volta ad inquadrare le principali linee evolutive del welfare state e delle politiche sociali, e ad approfondire inoltre le politiche e i servizi per le famiglie con figli e quindi l’infanzia, e gli anziani nelle società contemporanee con particolare riguardo al caso italiano.
Successivamente ci si focalizzerà sulle dimensioni culturali dei servizi, precisamente sul nesso tra culture, servizi, utenti ed esperti. Con riguardo a questi ultimi si approfondirà il tema di quale sia il “potere” degli esperti, del modo in cui vengono plasmate le categorie “tecnico-scientifiche” che essi utilizzano, del come i servizi e gli esperti/professionisti che vi operano influenzano e agiscono sulle rappresentazioni e organizzazione sociali, come si adattano alle dinamiche di cambiamento sociale (ad esempio nella relazione con immigrati e “altri” modi di fare famiglia). Sul versante dell’utenza si analizzeranno i risultati di alcune ricerche che ne indagano i vissuti e le esperienze soggettive nella relazione con i servizi e le sue culture, norme, valori sottostanti.
Il corso si chiuderà con un approfondimento sull’impatto dell’epidemia di Covid e delle misure volte al suo contenimento sui servizi pubblici, la loro organizzazione e/o ristrutturazione, le istanze culturali e valoriali sottostanti, il ruolo degli esperti in tali processi, i vissuti soggettivi sia dal lato utenti sia dal lato esperti dei processi e mutamenti in atto.
The course will deal, from a sociological perspective, with the theme of the relationship between cultures, services, users and experts / professionals in contemporary societies, the changes over time and the social implications of this relationship, adopting the life course perspective (therefore looking at services intended for different social categories, especially young-adult families with children and old people) and a gender and inter / transcultural perspective.
An introductory part will aim to frame the main evolutionary lines of the welfare state and social policies, and also to deepen the policies and services for families with children and therefore childhood, and the elderly in contemporary societies with particular regard to the Italian case.
Subsequently, the course will focus on the cultural dimensions of services, precisely on the link between cultures, services, users and experts. With regard to the latter, the issue of what the "power" of the experts is, the way in which the "technical-scientific" categories they use are shaped, how the services and the experts / professionals who work there influence the social representations and organizations, how they adapt themselves to the dynamics of social change (for example in the relationship with immigrants and "other" ways of making families). On the services users side, the results of some researchs that investigate their subjective experiences in the relationship with the services and its cultures, norms, underlying values will be analyzed.
The course will close with an in-depth analysis of the impact of the Covid epidemic and of the measures aimed at its containment on public services, their organization and / or restructuring, the underlying cultural and value issues, the role of the experts in these processes, the subjective experiences both on the user side and on the expert side of the processes and changes taking place.
