Future of Learning Hackathon 6-7 aprile 2019

Pubblicato: Lunedì 18 marzo 2019

Calling all UniTo Students and Designers!

The International Training Centre of the ILO—a United Nations agency that runs training programmes for the world of work—is pleased to invite Innovazione sociale, comunicazione e nuove tecnologie Masterprogramme Students to the first Future of Learning Hackathon.

At the event, designers, creative thinkers, and technology enthusiasts will explore new ideas and brainstorm scenarios about the future of learning.

What is the hackathon?

This is just one of many events organized in celebration of the ILO’s centenary. It’s an opportunity for students to showcase their talents and expertise, as well as network with international experts.

The hackathon is a free event. It will be held on from 6 to 7 April at TEATRO ESPACE - VIA MANTOVA 38, Turin, Italy.

All innovations will be presented during the ILO100 Global Tour, a global online event featuring livestreams from 24 countries with ILO offices.

 What are the topics?

“Humanity will change more in the next 20 years than in the previous 300 years.” - Gerd Leonhard

Artificial intelligence, 3D printing, cognitive computing, big data, automation, the internet of things, advanced robotics, blockchain. These are just a few of the buzzwords making an impact on jobs and the way we work today.

The traditional order of the workplace is falling by the wayside. Employee profiles are shifting, and office culture is transitioning. The entire learning ecosystem needs a rethink: How can we provide students and workers with the technical, digital, and social skills they need to cope with constant change?

We spoke with futurist Gerd Leonhard, who identified five “megashifts” that will impact the future of learning:

  1. Digitization
  2. Mobilization
  3. Screenification
  4. Disintermediation
  5. Transformation

In this 48-hour hackathon, Students will come up with creative responses to these trends.
