Per sostenere questo esame bisogna aver già sostenuto la prova scritta di lettorato (non necessario per studentesse e studenti di Amministrazione Aziendale). Per la frequenza del corso è richiesto un livello di conoscenza intermedio della lingua inglese. Possono frequentare il corso studentesse e studenti che abbiano già superato la prova finale di lettorato. In alternativa, gli studenti in possesso di una certificazione internazionale di Livello B2 del Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, ottenuto da non più di due anni, possono, previa vidimazione del certificato da parte del docente, accedere direttamente al corso.
An intermediate level of language knowledge and competence is required in order to fruitfully attend classes. Before taking the exam, students must have passed their lettorato test (the rules does not apply to students in Amministrazione Aziendale).
An international certificate - level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - can replace the lettorato test, provided it was obtained less than 2 years before. In this case, students can ask their professor to validate it and admit them to the course. - Oggetto:

Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento concorre alla realizzazione dell'obiettivo formativo del Corso di Laurea in
Servizio Sociale fornendo competenze linguistiche adeguate per la lettura critica di documentazione in lingua inglese e la comprensione di testi scientifici in lingua inglese.
Studenti e studentesse, al termine del percorso formativo, devono essere in grado di raggiungere i seguenti obiettivi:
1) Competenza linguistica a livello intermedio (sia scritta, sia parlata);
2) Capacità di leggere un testo scientifico in lingua inglese;
3) Capacità di prendere appunti in inglese;
4) Capacità di ricostruire un testo scientifico oralmente con una competenza ragionevole della
lingua parlata (almeno di livello intermedio, ovvero equivalente al livello B2 del Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages)
5) Capacità di presentare un argomento scientifico in modo coerente e razionale per mezzo della lingua parlata, dimostrando di saper argomentare criticamente e con una discreta scioltezza e spontaneità nella produzione orale.The course aims to fulfill the learning outcome of the Corso di Laurea in Servizio Sociale (Social Work Degree Course). Students will be able to read and critically understand documents and scientific texts in English.
At the end of the course the student will:
1) have achieved intermediate level competence in English (both written and spoken);
2) be able to read a scientific text in English;
3) be able to take notes in English;
4) be able to report and explain a scientific text orally in reasonably proficient spoken English
(at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
5) be able to make a critical and convincing scientific presentation in reasonably proficient

Studentesse e studenti dovranno essere in grado, relativamente alla sua capacità iniziale, di spiegare e discutere argomenti di natura generale e le tematiche esaminate in classe, dimostrando capacità di sviluppare il proprio pensiero ed esporlo chiaramente.
Di fronte ad una lettura ci si attende che sappia circoscriverne il contesto e da esso dedurne eventuali elementi lessicali sconosciuti senza compromettere il significato del testo. Inoltre ci si attende che sappia individuarne l'idea principale, la tesi dell'autore ed eventuali criticità, proposte o soluzioni.
The student must be able, relative to his initial ability, to explain and discuss topics of a general nature and the topics examined in class, demonstrating the ability to develop his own
thoughts and express them clearly.
Faced with a reading, it is expected that he will be able to circumscribe the context and from it deduce any unknown lexical elements without compromising the meaning of the text.
Furthermore, it is expected that he will be able

Modalità di insegnamento
Le lezioni saranno svolte in aula e la presenza è pertanto vivamente consigliata. Tutti coloro che fossero impossibilitati a presenziare, avranno comunque, ed ovviamente, accesso al materiale che sarà caricato di lezione in lezione, su Moodle. Non è quindi richiesto l'acquisto di alcun libro di testo ma le lezioni su Webex non verranno registrate.Lessons will be held in presence and attendance is therefore strongly recommended.
All those who are unable to attend will in any case and obviously have access to the material

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Orale. Studenti e studentesse verranno valutato sulla base di un colloquio orale effettuato esclusivamente in lingua inglese dove verrà chiesto di argomentare le tematiche affrontate o discutere un breve estratto di testo.La valutazione sarà effettuata sulla base di conoscenza dei contenuti, fluidità d'esposizione e vocabolario.
Oral. The students will be assessed on the basis of an oral examination conducted exclusively in English where he/she will be asked to argue the issues addressed or discuss a short text extract.
The evaluation will be carried out on the basis of knowledge of the contents, fluidity of exposure and vocabulary.

Il programma si sviluppa nella discussione di tematiche relative e di interesse al corso di studio di Sevizio Sociale. Partendo da una struttura teorica, che sia di natura semantica, culturale, sociale o storica e col supporto si strumenti linguistici e grammaticali, verranno affrontati i seguenti argomenti:Funzione dell'assistente sociale;
Flussi migratori, cause e loro implicazioni sociali e culturali;
Il concetto di famiglia e le sue varie accezioni;
Sesso, genere e pari opportunità;
Conflitto sociale;
Crimine e devianza;
Lavoro;
Disabilità;
Terza età;
The program develops in the discussion of topics related to and of interest to the Social
Service course of study. Starting from a theoretical structure, which is of a semantic,
cultural, social or historical nature and with the support of linguistic and grammatical tools, the following topics will be addressed:
Function of the social worker;
Migratory flows, causes and their social and cultural implications;The concept of family and its various meanings;
Sex, gender and equal opportunities;
Social conflict;
Crime and Deviance;
Work;
Disability;
Third Age.
