- Il lettorato è propedeutico all'accesso all'orale del corso monografico. Una volta superata la prova del Lettorato di Lingua Inglese Livello 3 il risultato resta valido per la durata del corso di studio. Non fa maturare crediti, ma il voto ottenuto è la base di partenza per il voto finale. L'orale, infatti, oltre alla verifica dei contenuti del corso monografico, ha come ulteriore obiettivo quello di testare la correttezza grammaticale della lingua acquisita nel lettorato e la sua correttezza d'uso all'interno delle tematiche affrontate nel corso. Il voto di partenza potrà quindi essere confermato, incrementato o diminuito in proporzione alla performance dello studente con una valutazione che non rispecchia una semplice media aritmetica. To access the Lingua Inglese course you need to pass the level 3 lettorato test first. Your lettorato mark will remain valid for the entire duration of your degree course. The lettorato doesn’t give you any credits, but your lettorato mark will be the starting point for the mark you’ll receive in your final exam. Indeed, the oral exam, besides verifying the contents of the Lingua Inglese course, will also test the language knowledge you acquired in your lettorato course and how you use it to discuss the topics of the course. The lettorato mark will then be confirmed, increased or decreased based on each student’s performance. The final mark, therefore, will not be the result of an arithmetic mean.

Obiettivi formativi
Il percorso dei Lettorati di Lingua Inglese ha lo scopo di portare lo studente o la studentessa ad un livello intermedio che gli permetterà di affrontare il corso monografico di Linguistica/Lingua Inglese.
The Lettorato di Lingua Inglese course is designed to help students reach an intermediate level of English in order to prepare them to take the Linguistica/Lingua Inglese, “corso monografico”.

Al termine del percorso formativo, l'allievo dovrà essere in grado di raggiungere i seguenti obiettivi: 1) capacità di comprendere le idee fondamentali di testi complessi su argomenti sia concreti sia astratti, comprese le discussioni tecniche nel proprio settore di specializzazione, 2) essere in grado di interagire con relativa scioltezza e spontaneità, 3) saper produrre testi chiari e articolati su un'ampia gamma di argomenti e esprimere un'opinione su un argomento d'attualità, esponendo i pro e i contro delle diverse opzioni.
At the end of the course, the student should achieve the following: 1) ability to understand the fundamental ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization, 2) be able to interact with relative fluency and spontaneity, 3) know how to produce clear and detailed texts on a wide range of topics and express an opinion on a topical topic, explaining the pros and cons of the different options.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Partecipazione alle lezioni, prove in itinere e una verifica finale. Tramite una serie di esercizi scritti, lo studente dovrà dimostrare di avere un controllo adeguato della grammatica e del lessico compreso nel programma e la capacità di capire un testo scritto.
(TO BE CONFIRMED) Per il 2° semestre 2021-22, la prova sarà di tipo informatizzato e si svolgerà via Moodle a giugno 2022 (data da comunicare). Sarà necessario registrarsi per la prova tramite l'apposita pagina web.
Participation in lessons, ongoing tests and a final test. Through a series of written exercises, students will have to demonstrate that they have adequate control of the grammar and vocabulary included in the program and the ability to understand a written text.

FREQUENZA: Tutti gli studenti sprovvisti di una certificazione internazionale di Livello B2 del CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) ottenuta da non più di tre anni devono superare una prova finale di Lettorato di Inglese di livello intermedio prima di poter sostenere l'esame del corso monografico di Linguistica/Lingua Inglese. La prova di Lettorato si può svolgere in due modi: da frequentante o da non frequentante. L’iscrizione ai corsi di lettorato è quindi facoltativa.
ATTENDANCE: All students without an international B2 certificate on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) obtained less than three years ago have to pass the intermediate lettorato test before they can take the Linguistica/Lingua Inglese exam. Both attending and non-attending students can take the Lettorato test. Therefore, attendance is not mandatory.
Gli iscritti ai lettorati sono divisi in base al livello e devono superare una prova a fine corso per passare al livello successivo o - dopo il terzo livello - all'esame monografico di Lingua Inglese. I frequentanti hanno l'obbligo di partecipare alle lezioni per essere ammessi alle prove di fine corso; chi non raggiunge la frequenza minima potrà ripetere il livello o sostenere la prova di livello intermedio come non frequentanti.
The students enrolled in a lettorato course are divided into different groups according to their level. At the end of the course, they have to pass a final test to be admitted to the next level, or - after the third level - to the Lingua Inglese course. Attending students must meet the minimum attendance requirements. If they don’t, they can enroll in a new lettorato course or take the intermediate test as non-attending students.
Gli studenti che non possono garantire una regolare frequenza durante il semestre sono pregati di non effettuare l'iscrizione a un corso di lettorato. I non frequentanti possono sostenere la prova di livello intermedio a gennaio, giugno o settembre.
Students who cannot attend regularly during the semester are kindly asked not to enroll in a lettorato course. Non-attending students will be able to take the intermediate lettorato test in January, June or September.
Un numero massimo di studenti stabilito in base alla capacità dell’aula sarà ammesso in ogni corso. L’iscrizione effettiva sarà confermata durante le prime lezioni dalla propria lettrice, la quale si riserva il diritto di ri-combinare le classi per rendere i corsi equilibrati e di livello omogeneo. L’assenza alla prima lezione implicherà l’automatica perdita del diritto a frequentare il corso. In questo caso si procederà ad un ripescaggio in ordine d’iscrizione. Si suggerisce a chi non riesce ad iscriversi online di presentarsi alla prima lezione per verificare l’eventuale disponibilità di posti liberi.
The maximum number of students allowed in each course will depend on the seating capacity of the room. The lettrice will confirm your enrollment during the first lesson(s), and she will have the right to rearrange her courses to make them more balanced. Being absent on the first day will cause you to lose your right to attend the course. Students on the waiting list will then be given the chance to enrol. If you haven’t been able to enrol online, please come to the first lesson to verify any last-minute availability.
Per non perdere la priorità d'iscrizione acquisita, durante la prima lezione gli studenti registrati devono presentare un’auto dichiarazione del risultato sul Macmillan Placement Test (nome, cognome, matricola, livello assegnato) o copia di eventuali certificati e/o attestati.
All enrolled students must bring proof of their Macmillan Placement Test or any language certificate on the first day of class.
