With economic globalization proceeding at a fast pace, political, economic, cultural exchanges and cooperation are burgeoning between China and the European Union. Educating European students to become professionals well-versed in Chinese culture and language is indispensable for the profitable development of mutual relations.

The course aims at teaching students Chinese language and expressions at intermediate level, while at the same time offering the opportunity to grasp the key elements of Chinese traditional philosophic ideas and current developments in society.

Through the study of language structures and functions, the student's ability to communicate in Chinese will be developed.

随着经济全球化进程的加快，中欧政治，经济和文化交流与合作也日益蓬勃发展，培养欧洲学生成为精通汉语和了解中国文化的专业人才必将促进双边关系的有效发展，推动中欧科技，商贸和人文等方面的共同进步。

中级班课程旨在教授中级汉语语言及表达方式，同时介绍中国传统哲学观点及当今中国社会的发展。

通过学习汉语言结构及功能，学生们的各种语言交际能力将得到提高。

Intermediate students should proficiently grasp Chinese grammar and ways of expression. Regarding writing and speaking abilities, students are expected to employ proper grammatical structures and use words accurately. The listening and reading level should be in the region of HSK4 /(CEF) B2. These skills can be used when discussing a number of issues, communicating more fluently with native Chinese speakers as well as reading and correctly understanding newspaper (/internet) articles on daily life and commentaries.

Chinese Intermediate will further develop active and passive language skills, including comprehension skills in listening, productive skills in speaking, reading and writing. It will also deepen students' understanding and appreciation of the customs, culture and society of the regions/countries in which the language is spoken, while developing their awareness of the general social and cultural background of the language.

中级班学生要熟练掌握汉语语法和表达方式，汉语写作及口语表达语法结构规范，用词准确。听力和阅读水平达到HSK（四级/《欧洲语言共同参考框架（CEF）》B2级。可以用 汉语就较广泛领域的话题进行谈论，比较流利地与汉语为母语者进行交流，阅读并正确理解报纸（网络）上的关于日常生活及评论的文章。

中级班学生将进一步提高语言技能，包括听力，口语，阅读和写作。学生们也应该深入了解中国的习俗，文化和不同地区和国家的社会发展，增强了解语言的社会性及文化背景。

The final exam will be divided into 3 parts:

   1) Listening, grammar and reading (please see a sample of HSK4 test)

   2) Speaking: a 10 minutes presentation of a city or university (history, geography, people/students and current developments) 

   3) Writing: A commentary on a book/an article/film/painting/photo (simple comments over 600 words)

Students must pass the written part of the examination before being eligible for the oral part of the examination and they must finish all parts of exam to get the final mark.

Before taking the final exam students are required to do 2 presentations on a city or a university and 1 essay on a book /film/festival.

Part time students will sit a dedicated exam and are requested to contact the teacher at the beginning of the semester.

 中级班学生应该熟练掌握汉语语法及地道的汉语口语的表达方式（10分钟关于一个城市或者大学的介绍，10分钟的求职面试）写作（600字关于文化或社会），听力和阅读水平应该超过HSK4（与中国人交流流畅，阅读报纸上公共话题的文章）

最后的考试分为三个部分

1 听力，语法和阅读（请参阅HSK4样卷）

2口语：一个10分钟的演讲，内容关于一个城市或者大学（历史，地理文职，人/学生和目前的发展状况）

3写作：评论一本书，一篇文章，一部电影，一幅画或者一张照片等（个人观点，600字以上）

学生必须先通过笔试部分，然后进行口试部分。最终成绩应包括全部考试内容。

参加最后考试的学生要至少完成2个关于一个城市和一所大学的演讲和一篇关于一本书/一部电影/一个节日的文章。

业余学习的学生要进行单独考试，考试的具体要求请在学期开始时与老师联系。

Support activities include the TOChina Conversation Club on Facebook, to get better acquainted with how China really is (activities in Chinese + English/Italian), as well as the Chinese-Italian Language Corner on weekends for language practice and cultural exchange with Chinese students.

The course includes three parts:

1) Listening and speaking

   Reading words and phrases aloud, paying special attention to the pronunciations of j,q,c,z,c,s,zh,ch,sh.

   Listening to questions and circling the correct answer based on the context offered in the audio/text.

   Listening to dialogues and answering the questions.

   Listening and writing sentences in pinyin.

   Listening and filling in the blanks with Chinese characters.

   Using at least 8 words and phrases from a set list to describe or comment places or situations.

   2)  Grammar exercises

   Understanding intermediate Chinese grammar, being confident in the use of the structures of sentences and Chinese expressions.

   Explaining the basic grammar of Chinese language; the students will finish the corresponding exercises.

   3)  Reading and writing

   Understanding Chinese grammar, being proficient in the structure of sentences and Chinese expressions.

   Explaining the basic grammar of Chinese language.

   Writing an introductory paragraph with comments (at least 300 words); for example: a famous dish, past experiences, museums, a book

Students will be expected to spend time studying outside  class (between 3-5 hours per week). They will be expected to complete the exercise book/workbook on a self-study basis, prepare exercises and activities before class,  write short assignments and prepare presentations. These tasks are designed to motivate students to engage in language use.

课程内容包括三个部分：

朗读下列词语，特别注意（j,q,c,z,c,s,zh,ch,sh……）的发音

听问题，根据课文选择正确答案。

听对话回答问题。

听写句子（拼音）

听音填空（汉字）

用所给的词（至少8个）进行描述和评价

2语法练习

正确理解汉语语法，熟练掌握汉语句子结构和表达方式。

解释汉语基础语法，学生们将完成相应练习。

3阅读和写作

 阅读有关中国历史，文化及当前中国社会发展的文章，文章将选自中文网站和报纸（每篇文章超过600字）

写短文，简单介绍和评价（至少300字）例如：一道有名的菜，过去的经历，博物馆，一本书等。

学生们要进行课外学习（每星期至少3-5小时），完成课本和练习册上的练习，准备课上练习和活动，书写短文及准备演讲。学生要积极主动运用所学语言知识。
