In accordance with the educational project of the degree course, the teaching objectives are as follows:
- comprehending the historical dimension in order to refine the ability to analyse and understanding political phenomena;
- mastering the tools necessary to critically understand historical sources and the complexity of the historiographic debate;

Lo studente dovrà raggiungere una buona comprensione dei problemi storici trattati a lezione, nei libri suggeriti. In coerenza col progetto formativo del corso di laurea, lo studente dovrà mostrare di avere acquisito capacità di uso degli strumenti necessari a:
- discutere criticamente sia oralmente sia con la scrittura i testi storici;
- mostrare capacità di addentrarsi nei dibattiti storiografici affrontati;
- analizzare i processi politici di lungo periodo

Lessons and lectures last for a total of 72 hours (12 CFU)
Students are required to have a good understanding of the historical events taught in the lectures and in the suggested books.
In accordance with the teaching outline of the course, students have to show they have the right tools to:
- critically discuss historical texts with appropriate lexicon, both in oral discussions and written assignments;
- analyse in depth the historiographic debates;
- examine political changes in the long term.

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento, oltre a lezioni frontali del docente, prevede fasi di interrelazioni con gli studenti tramite lettura ed esposizione dei testi indicati dal docente.
L'insegnamento ha come obiettivi il perfezionamento della capacità di comprensione critica degli studenti, attraverso l'analisi storica, e delle abilità di comunicazione orale e scritta.
In addition to lectures held by the professor, the teaching also includes moments of engagement with the students through reading and presentations of the texts suggested by the teacher.
The teaching is designed to perfect students' critical understanding ability trough historical analysis, as well as their oral and written communication skills.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'esame si compone di due parti:
La prima, scritta, verte sul manuale e sulla storia generale del XX secolo. Il superamento dell'esonero consente di sostenere la parte monografica con la scrittura concordata di una relazione.
Per le/i non frequentanti avviene in modalità di domande a risposta multipla. Per superare la prova occorrerà ottenere la sufficienza e cioè la votazione di 18/30. Per le/i frequentanti la prova avverrà attraverso un esonero a domande aperte, per superare il quale occorrerà conseguire almeno 18/30. Il voto ottenuto sarà parte integrante della valutazione finale con prova orale sui volumi indicati nella parte specialistica. A partire dagli appelli di gennaio 2022, la verifica della conoscenza del libro di Detti-Gozzini manuale avverrà per tutte e tutti mediante esame a domande multiple e QUINDI COME NON FREQUENTANTI. La parte orale costituisce la seconda parte dell'esame.
Si intendono frequentanti coloro che seguono le lezioni in presenza o a distanza o tramite le registrazioni disponibili su moodle. A determinare la qualifica di FREQUENTANTE O NON FREQUENTANTE è la scelta della modalità di svolgimento della prima prova.
LE/I NON FREQUENTANTI sosterranno la parte monografica con l'esame orale sui testi indicati.
LE/I FREQUENTANTI sceglieranno una relazione scritta sulla storia dell'Europa contemporanea. Potranno concordarla col docente. Svolgeranno un confronto critico scritto da sottoporre al docente 15 giorni prima dell'orale e da discutere all'appello orale. Il testo non deve essere inferiore ai 19000 caratteri e superiore ai 20000 caratteri, spazi inclusi. Se a una verifica la relazione risultasse copiata, si perde la possibilità di sostenere l'esame in questa modalità e si dovrà affrontare come non frequentante.
The examination consists of two parts:
The first, written, focuses on the manual and general history of the 20th century. Passing the exemption allows you to take the monograph portion with the agreed-upon writing of a paper.
For the non-attendants it takes place in multiple question mode. In order to pass the test, it will be necessary to obtain a sufficiency, i.e. a grade of 18/30. For those who attend the test will be through an exemption with open questions, to pass the test will be necessary to achieve at least 18/30. The grade obtained will be an integral part of the final evaluation with an oral test on the volumes indicated in the specialized part. From the January 2022 session, all students will be tested on their knowledge of Detti-Gozzini's book by examination through multiple questions and therefore as NON-ATTENDANTS.
The oral part is the second part of the examination.
We intend those who follow the lessons in presence or at a distance or through the recordings available on moodle. To determine the qualification of ATTENDANT OR NON-ATTENDANT is the choice of the mode of conduct of the general test. Those who take the exam on the manual from NON ATTENDANT will also take the monographic part in this mode. Those who take the monographic part with the test as a student will also take the second part in other modes.
NON-ATTENDANTS will take the monographic part with the oral examination on the texts indicated.
The ATTENDANTS will choose an issue analyzed. They will be able to agree with the teacher. They will carry out a critical written about history of contemporary Europe to be submitted to the teacher 15 days before the oral exam and to be discussed at the oral call. The text must not exceed 20000 characters, but not less than 19000 characters, including spaces. If the report is copied at a review, the student loses the opportunity to take the exam in this mode and must take it as a non-attendee.
